Mol in Chemistry
Mol in ChemistryIn a science fair, you need to answer the following questions about the topic: Mol in Chemistry. The term 'mol' means one thousand, and the problem is that there are many types of moles and these moles vary in their boiling points. For example, the degree of hardness of a diamond will depend on its size and because of this, it is difficult to create a 'true' molar crystal. In order to solve this problem, students must use a traditional sieve to separate the smaller and larger moles until they come up with a 'solution'. It is then time to solve for the number of atoms in the solution in order to figure out the boiling point of the liquid. In general, the smaller a mole is, the more difficult it is to dissolve compound molecules into it. For example, if a mole were fifty times smaller than a molecule, then this molecule would be more viscous and so would not be able to dissolve as easily. The same idea applies for molecules of different sizes. It is thus imperative that t he student understand how to recognize this distinction between molecular and molar sizes.Students should be taught how to use a true molar crystal calculator. This is a device which contains a small needle at the end which enables the student to place molecules in order to solve the problem. This device can be used with almost any laboratory material including organic solvents and some solutions that are harder to dissolve such as diamonds. The professor has a test which can be used to gauge how well the student is answering the question. The student must answer a question about the number of moles needed to dissolve a specific substance in water. The professor has prepared a sample substance which he places in the solution. After a short time, the sample is measured and the student must calculate the amount of mole in order to find the boiling point of the liquid. The test is in reality a sort of debriefing session where the professor summarizes the student's answers. Once the stude nt has answered this question correctly, then the student can move on to the next question. While this scenario is common in a chemistry lab, it can also be used as a fun teaching tool in a class. In fact, many students will find this technique to be entertaining as well as educational. There are many other types of compounds and their boiling points in addition to moles. It is important for students to be given a broad view of chemistry which will help them in many different ways in their future careers.

20 Tips For New Tutors (Part II) - TutorNerds
20 Tips For New Tutors (Part II) - TutorNerds Twenty Tips For New Tutors (Part II) Twenty Tips For New Tutors (Part II) Use Official Practice Material When Possible Barronâs and Petersonâs and Kaplan and many, many more third-party companies supply their own study materials for standardized tests and common class subjects. You might find some of these materials to have an exceptional quality that is very helpful for your situation. Unfortunately, this is not often the case. There is a lot of money for these groups that sell new additions of all of their preparation products each year to desperate students, and Iâve found many cases of even the more popular names utilizing unethical practices in their material (such making diagnostic tests too hard to make you think you need more help, teaching too much material to pad extra pages or note cards, and purposefully grading material too harshly to guarantee that real test scores are an improvement). Do yourself a favor and avoid the risk by finding any official study material that is from the same company that makes the test you are preparing for book your private Costa Mesa tutor from TutorNerds. Teach with Variety and Find What Works You are likely aware that many people lean more dominantly towards a typical type of learning style. The most commonly heard types are âvisual learnings,â âauditory learners,â and âphysical learners.â These reference students who do best by seeing something done, hearing it explained and doing it themselves, respectively. In practice, I find that students donât often fall into such simple, cookie-cutter categories, but it is important to vary your style and use a variety of methods until you find what works best for each student. Donât be afraid to use new tactics like drawing pictures, having students re-teach examples back to you, or creating fun mnemonics to help them learn. Go Back and Check Old Material I find reviewing previous lessons to be essential for any subject that will have a cumulative test, or that will lead to sequential classes. This means that I will keep track of what we are learning each week, and I will periodically quiz them with a few questions from everything weâve learned so far. This will help make sure they retain the important information (it is easier to learn it and do some practice to maintain the knowledge rather than learning, forgetting, then relearning), and it will get them used to take impromptu cumulative assignments that cover a variety of topics. If You Know Whatâs Important, Focus on It If you are teaching math to an 8th grader getting ready for high school, you have the distinct advantage of knowing exactly what that 8th grader will ultimately learn in high school math classes. This means you also know what material wonât be important for high school. Use this knowledge to review and expand their knowledge in the areas that will help them the most in the future. Donât jeopardize their success in their current class because you are teaching them things for the future, but you should emphasize the important topics whenever possible. I also find that students tend to focus more when I tell them which things will be important for next year. Get Them Ahead When Possible Similar to the previous point, you should be using any extra time to get your student ahead in their studies. Students consistently come back to me pleased when they go over something in class that we had already practiced and got a head start on. This is because they will likely do well on the topic in class, thus boosting their confidence and helping them feel smarter in school because they are better at the topic. Getting a student ahead has many benefits, but Iâve found the most important are the benefits to their confidence and their overall enjoyment of the subject; everyone likes to be good at something and better than their peers. A university can make this easier for them by offering support services such as financial aid and advising. Help Your Child Work Well in Groups With These Tips
Help Your Child Work Well in Groups With These Tips Nearly every student finds it difficult to work well in groups at least once in his or her academic career. Group work involves sharing responsibility and control, and it can take years to hone these skills. Help your childdevelop positive and productive habits early on so he or she can work well in groupsthroughout the rest of his or her school years and adult life. There are actually great benefits to group study! Here are several tips for the most common types of group members: Apathetic or shy group members These students are either shy or don't care to contribute to their groups. The best way for your child to approach this group member is to talk to him or her. Have your student explain (clearly, firmly, and politely) that his or her input and assistance is necessary for the group to succeed. Have your child directly ask shy students for their thoughts or suggestions, and remind your student to be responsive to their contributions. With apathetic students, the above advice may not be sufficient. If they still fail to participate, it is best for your child to inform his or her teacher. Also ensure that your student understands that it is not okay to take on this group members role instead, work should always be shared evenly. Controlling group members Controlling group members can be especially challenging to work well in groups with. They may badger their groupmates, they may not trust other team members to carry their weight, or they may want tasks done just so. Again, the best way for your child to deal with this kind of person is to speak to them. Have your studentexplain that they know their responsibilities and that they are doing their part accurately and on time. Remind them to convey that they understand that their group member cares a great deal, and that they appreciate all the work he or she does. Your student should ask this person to trust him or her and to respect his or her abilities. If your child has become a controlling group member, do your best to discover why. Ask them why this project is so important, why they do not trust their group members, and what might happen if they give their peers some space. Then address these underlying problems. Confused group members These students honestly do not understand the concepts or processes central to their group work. Their parts of the project may contain numerous errors, or they may shy away from taking on responsibility because they fear making mistakes. The best thing for your child to do is to explain those concepts that are unclear. This is why group work exists: for students to help one another with difficult material. Vocalizing the concepts can help cement them for your student too, so the act of teaching can actually help your child learn. If your studentis struggling and feels like he or she is letting the group down, pursue academic help either by talking to the teacher, requesting a tutor, or studying together. Remind your child that he or she can always ask for help and that there's no shame in doing so. These tips may also help your child to deal with group projects.
